Lisa and I will be spending July 3, 4 and 5 at Orvis-Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado. I will be working on a few large oil paintings and giving presentations on fishing destinations. We'll have many pieces of original work on display. If you are in the area, please stop by to say hello!
The Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame I'm proud to announce that I've been inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. I'm very honored to have been chosen in the 2009 inaugural class of six artists. This list includes; Eldridge Hardie, Mark Hopkins, Ogden Pleissner, Chet Reneson, Brett Smith, and myself. I am deeply humbled to be a member of this group and hope to live up to this distinction.
I'm very pleased to announce that I'll have an illustrated essay in the May issue of Gray's Sporting Journal. Many of you who have fished with me in Alaska will recognize "Rusty" and enjoy his "Big Pike Adventure".
I'll have an illustrated essay in this year's issue of Hatches magazine, my favorite fly tying magazine. Check it out!
Illustration Work
Joe Arnette's closing column in Gun Dog magazine now features illustrations by Bob. The closing column in Fly Rod & Reel magazine, written by John Gierach, has been illustrated by Bob since 1992. Bob is now illustrating the closing column for Duck's Unlimited magazine, as well as frequently illustrating additional articles. He is also a regular columnist in Midwest Fly Fishing magazine. As usual, Bob's work appears frequently in Wildfowl magazine, Gray's Sporting Journal, Hunting and Fishing Collectibles, Upland Almanac, Shooting Sportsman, Alaska magazine, and the Yale Angler's Journal.
The Thursday Morning Art Review
I spend each Wednesday working on the next installment of the Thursday Morning Art Review. The TMAR started out as a way for me to send my latest painting and a short history of the work to my friends, but it has evolved into something much bigger. I send out a short story with an accompanying painting each Wednesday night. If you are interested, feel free to sign up. Click on the Thursday Morning Art Review tab at the top of our website, and then click on the "Sign up for..." button at the top of the page.
